Denver is the capital and most heavily populated city in Colorado. It is located in the South Platte River Valley and just east of the frost range of the Rocky Mountains. Downtown area next to Cherry Creek is absolutely incredible to see. Denver has been given the nickname of the “Mile-High City” due to the altitude on which it sits.
